Ponteland
Ponteland is a historic village situated in the southern part of Northumberland, often referred to as 'the secret kingdom' due its unspoilt beauty and a huge amount of history.. It is eight miles north of Newcastle, a vibrant modern city, and about two miles from Newcastle International Airport which is the gateway to Europe.
Also a short journey away are the historic cities of Edinburgh, Durham and York. All are accessible by rail from Newcastle Central Station and are well worth a visit.
The area is represented in the top leagues in soccer, rugby union, basket ball and ice hockey by Newcastle United Football Club, Newcastle Falcons, Newcastle Eagles and Newcastle Vipers.
Ponteland is well served by a local bus service and has many local restaurants and shops.
